FIRENEST
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 31, 2026
In short: your project data never reaches us. Firenest calls Google's APIs directly from your device — there is no server of ours in between, and no copy of anything you browse or edit.
How Firenest works
Firenest is an administration client for Firebase projects that you already own. When you connect a Google account, the app receives an OAuth access token and uses it to call the Google Cloud APIs — Firestore, Identity Toolkit, Cloud Storage, Realtime Database, Cloud Functions, Hosting, Remote Config and App Check — straight from your device.
We operate no backend. Your documents, user records, files and configuration are never sent to us, never pass through infrastructure we control, and are never stored anywhere by us.
What we do collect
Only what is needed to give you an account and a subscription:
- Your Firenest account — email address, and a display name if you provide one. Handled by Firebase Authentication, operated by Google on our behalf. Used to sign you in and nothing else.
- Subscription status — whether your subscription is active. Handled by RevenueCat together with Apple. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous identifier and the purchase state; it does not receive your project data.
That is the complete list.
Your Google token
The OAuth token that lets Firenest reach your projects is stored in the system keychain on your device. It is never transmitted to us and never leaves your machine except in requests addressed to Google.
You can disconnect the Google account at any time from the account menu, which discards the token. Revoking Firenest's access in your Google account settings has the same effect from the other side.
What stays on your device
- Preferences: theme, language, pinned collections, and the read-only flag you set per project.
- The app-lock PIN, if you enable one, stored as a salted SHA-256 hash in the keychain. The PIN itself is never written down, and cannot be recovered from the hash.
Deleting the app removes all of it.
What we deliberately do not do
- No analytics and no crash reporting. The app ships with no analytics SDK of any kind.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No tracking across apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing of personal data. There is nothing to sell.
Your rights
You can have your Firenest account deleted at any time — here is how. That removes the account record and the subscription link. Since we hold no copy of your project data, there is nothing further for us to erase.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, the lawful basis for processing the account data above is the performance of our contract with you. Write to us to exercise any right under the GDPR and we will answer within 30 days.
Children
Firenest is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If the app's privacy practices ever change, this page will be updated first and the "Last updated" date above will reflect it.
